Project Description

Duncan-Iles Foundation, Inc. conducted its third annual summer fundraising project initiative in 2013. Duncan-Iles Foundation, Inc. has awarded scholarship grants to Helping Kids Go To Summer Camp to the following summer day camps in Western North Carolina; the Fletcher Parks Summer Day Camp, Fletcher; Lutheridge Summer Day Camp, Arden; YMCA of Western North Carolina Summer Day Camp, Asheville; and the Arden Summer Day FLAG Camp, Arden.

The purpose of theses scholarship grant awards is to assist parents who are experiencing financial difficulty in sending their children to a summer day camp program as well as providing a safe place for children to go while their parents work.

The funding for these awards comes as a result of a fundraising initiative known as Walk Across America Walk-a-Thon that was held at the Fletcher Park in Fletcher on June 9, 2013 sponsored by the Duncan-Iles Foundation, Inc.
